Molly Bobroff and Matthew Day

MOMA are Molly Bobroff and Matthew Day, an indie folk duo based in London and writing between London and York. Molly sings hopeful and clear. Matthew sings rough and low. The two rarely resolve into a neat harmony, and that friction is the point of the band.

The records are built on acoustic rhythm, layered vocals and very little percussion. Nothing is polished past the point where it still sounds like two people in a room. The songs are about staying in things you should probably leave, and about the gap between what gets said and what gets meant.
